To be noted, candidates failing to satisfy the RBI Grade B officer eligibility will not be allowed to participate in the recruitment process. RBI Grade B Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 21 and the upper age limit is capped at 30 years, inclusive of both ages. However, candidates holding M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications are allowed a relaxation in the upper age limit, up to 32 and 34 years, respectively.

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023 Nationality

The Reserve Bank of India prescribes the RBI Grade B Eligibility in its official RBI Group D notification. It plays a major role in the recruitment cycle as it informs candidates of the requisite criteria to proceed further in the selection process. It consists of different parameters one of which is Nationality.

As per the RBI Grade B Eligibility, the candidates must either be:

  • An Indian Citizen
  • A subject of Nepal/Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in India permanently.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India

RBI Grade B Qualification

One should note, the degree should have been completed as of the closing date of the online application. Candidates in their final year of graduation or awaiting the final results are not eligible to apply for the exam.

RBI Grade B Eligibility for Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)

Candidates applying for Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General) must have done their graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants. Aspirants with Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualifications with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters are also eligible for RBI Grade B Officer post.

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR

RBI Grade B Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR is one of the most reputed and highest-paid jobs in the banking sector. As per the 7th pay commission, the salary of RBI Grade B is around Rs 77,000. To apply for this post, you must fulfill the following RBI Grade B Eligibility criteria.

  • A Master’s Degree in Econometrics / Finance/ Economics / Integrated Economics Course / Mathematical Economics / Quantitative Economics, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University.

OR

  • PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters from a recognized University.

OR

  • Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters from a recognized University.
  • Candidates having a Master’s Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of the number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. The probationary period will not be reckoned for experienced candidates.

RBI Grade B Eligibility for Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM

Aspirants applying for RBI Grade B Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM must possess the following qualifications to meet the RBI Grade B Eligibility.

  • A Master’s Degree in Econometrics/ Mathematical Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all years.

OR

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters along with a one-year post-graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute.

OR

  • M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters.

OR

  • PG Diploma in Business Analytics offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all years.

RBI Grade B Number of Attempts

According to the RBI Grade B Eligibility 2023, there are certain limitations on the number of attempts for the RBI Grade B exam. Candidates belonging to the General category can attempt the exam a maximum of six times, whereas there is no attempt limit for candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

The count of attempts would include attempts made in previous years, even if the candidate did not appear for all the papers. It is important to note that once a candidate exhausts their maximum number of attempts, they will be ineligible to apply for any future RBI Grade B examinations.
